Okay, so, this is my first journal entry. Um, therefore, I don't know how to do anything special- can I add in a picture?

There is a "Manga Art Challenge" to draw pictures relating to 100 different themes. :) I'm hardly an artist, but I'm trying anyway. I have a sketch for #34, Stars, done, but I plan to do it in watercolor, so it won't be done for a long time. I don't even know how to do watercolor. But, every idea I've thought of would look prettier with watercolor, so I'd better learn. :D This morning, I was working on #31, Flowers, and since it'll be a while yet before I finish and post it here, I thought I might tell you about it! :D :D

I'm really proud of it so far! I've never drawn a picture looking down on a person, before. The foreshortening actually looks decent. 8O I had to copy it freehand from a relatively small picture of a toddler from Yahoo! image search. xD; I was always terrible at drawing freehand before. What happened? :3 Yay. The perspective is entirely different than anything I've ever done before, but I still need to figure out what I want the girl in my picture to be wearing, and it might be hard to draw her new clothes in properly. There are cherry blossoms falling down towards her, so that's how it relates to "Flowers." Maybe it's lame and uncreative, but I'm left-brained so this is a big step for me anyway! It's on graph paper though- and it's just a pencil sketch so far. Can anyone help me make it look nice enough to put here? Though, if I'm going to seriously do this challenge, I should get a drawing pad or something. And download "Drops of Jupiter" onto my iPod, because both of the drawings I've done so far had me listening to that song on repeat the whole time.

On a completely unrelated note, I feel the need to share that my favorite color is orange. Especially when paired with black. :D Not dark, acidic orange, but a bright pure one! (If that makes sense.) I want to have a little glossy black cat, and tie an orange ribbon around its neck! :D But I'm afraid it might get caught on something and strangle my poor (imaginary) kitty. ;_; I like pumpkins and oranges, though I've never eaten a pumpkin. Pumpkin pie, yes. How would you eat a pumpkin, anyway? Would you eat the pulp? D: At least they're pretty. I always like having complicated Jack-o-Lanterns. xP And I should probably focus on Fourth of July and my final on the second, since they're much closer than Halloween. *ignores last sentence* It's kinda funny though, since I hate scary things, but cute Halloween stuff is adorable and I love it!
I went to Disneyland a couple weeks ago and in one of the shops they had The Nightmare Before Christmas stuff (well, obviously), and they had cute little stuffed versions of Jack Skellington and Zero. Now, by this time, it was at least ten o'clock at night, I had been walking around all day, and for whatever reason, I was exhausted. So, I ended up calling them "Skully" and "Shoom," respectively. :D Very fun. Halloween is great when it's just chocolate and pumpkins- no blood and gore plz. <3

I think this is a suitable introductary journal entry. It shows off my tendency to go off on random tangents quite well. :D And it's happy instead of all emo and depressing like I can be sometimes, so it's worth letting out. ;D Maybe I'll have some artwork up in the next few weeks (which actually could be a whole month. Time flies at times). See you then!
